Audience Response:
Overall, I got a very positive response from my audience. From looking at my magazine, the audience could clearly tell what my genre was, "it is suitable with the genre as the cover star relates to Rap" commented of my audience. This shows that I have met my objective of making sure my magazine was based on the genre of rap and fit all the conventions needed to be a rap magazine.
Front Cover:
For my front cover I wanted to create a really simple but eye catching cover as I felt like this would be what would make the audience attracted to my magazine at first glance. Looking at the comments, my audience had commented how well laid out my magazine front cover is. "Your front page is very clear and easy to understand", "The front cover is laid out perfectly and clean". I was really happy with these comments as it shows I had done what I intended to do with my front cover.
Also in the front cover I started using a clear colour scheme which was white, black and shades of grey. I felt like these colours mixed very well together to create a professional looking magazine. "I really like the colour theme of the magazine , the use of simple colours makes the magazine look professional" said one of my audience. I got many comments about how good the colour scheme was and was very happy with it. I used the colour scheme throughout my whole magazine to create the same feel.
Contents Page:
For my contents page I wanted to create a unique page that would help distinguish my magazine from others. Here I had continued to use my colour scheme - my audience could clearly tell that I carried this on as they say "loving the colour scheme which you kept throughout the magazine" and I really like the colour theme of the magazine , the use of simple colours makes the magazine look professional. I was also told that my "contents page is very effective" this shows that I have achieved the goals of what a contents page is meant to do - inform people of the different pages effectively and easily. Overall, most of my audience liked my contents page so I was happy with that.
Double Page Spread:
For my double page spread I wanted to create again, a simple page that was well laid out so my readers could read the article easily. From the comments on my double page spread I got positive feedback such as "I like the layout of the dps, the photos used were nice too" and "the image looks professional". This shows that I have used a suitable photo of my DPS model and used it to good effect like I intended to as it covers a whole page. I was also told "the dps looks very professional" and "the DPS is very informative since there's a lot of text" which shows I have done a good job of laying it out and providing a good interview. However I also got constructive feedback from my audience on what I could improve on; "the dps looks a little plain", "to improve you can change the layout of your dps because it looks a bit plain" and "the double page spread it is a bit plain but yet at a satisfactory level." Mainly the criticism I got was on my DPS about how plain it was. To improve on this next time I will add more colours and fill in the spaces more effectively on the page.
