TASK 9: Contents page of my Music Magazine Progression

I will be posting my progression of the making of my Music Magazine Contents Page here. This post will be updated whenever I feel that progress has been made. I had to start the Contents Page on InDesign however I had to later on switch to Photoshop to do my last bit of editing as I could not remove the background on InDesign and the pictures I had were restricted on InDesign. All the text used on this contents page however was done in InDesign.

TASK 9: Front Cover of my Music Magazine Progression

My Front Cover will be done using Adobe Photoshop CS5.1. I will be posting my progression of the making of my Music Magazine Front cover here. I will be editing this post whenever I feel that progress has been made. This is not the final Front Cover.

Special Instructions: The genre of the magazine will be rap so the theme that my models should be dressed in is one that would appeal to rap.

Timeline:

-          9:00 to 9:10: Getting ready for the shoot

-          9:10 to 9:20: Setting up equipment needed in studio

-          9:20 to 10:00: Taking the pictures

-          10:00 to 10:10: Packing away equipment
 

Concept: The concept of my magazine is for a nice rap theme with the colour scheme consisting of black and white; this will require my models to abide to these rules and to wear clothes that are appropriate for this photo shoot and fit in with my colour scheme.

Learning illustrator

I tested out on using a variety of fonts and styles to create a masthead for my magazine on Adobe Illustrator. Here are the different fonts and styles I came up with.

What I have learnt:
- To create text, I must press the letter 'T' allocated on the toolbar to the left.

- I can create many different masthead designs using various fonts - this gives me even more options to how I can design a unique masthead.

- I can make the fonts look even more bold using the stroke tool allocated on the toolbar to the right.

- I can give my text a 'border' look by selecting gradient tool - again allocated on the toolbar to the right and selecting 2 different colours / shades or tints of the same colour to give it a good effect.

- How to enlarge certain letters using the transform tool.
